I Billund Kommune har vi i dag seks råd, som hjælper og vejleder både kommunalbestyrelsen og vores embedsværk: Frivilligrådet, Ældrerådet, Kultur- og Fritidsrådet, Landdistriktsrådet, Handicaprådet samt Ungerådet. Alle seks er vigtige grundsten i vores kommunale udvikling, og vi værdsætter de initiativer, den vejledning og de erfaringer, de bringer med sig.
Gennem samtaler mellem Billund International, Venstre og Socialdemokratiet – og med særligt initiativ fra Billund International er vi blevet enige om, at tiden er inde til, at kommunen vokser videre. Efter valget vil vi derfor arbejde for at danne et Internationalt Råd, som kan bidrage med viden og rådgivning om de særlige fordele, behov og udfordringer, der følger med at være en mangfoldig kommune.
Vi forestiller os, at rådet både skal bestå af internationale borgere, repræsentanter med dansk baggrund samt andre relevante interessenter, så rådet bliver bredt forankret i hele kommunen. Sammen kan vi skabe grobund for endnu bedre integration, større forståelse og stolthed over vores forskellige kulturelle baggrunde – og dermed endnu mere dynamik i Billund Kommune.

In Billund Municipality, we currently have six advisory councils that support and advise both the municipal council and our administration: the Volunteer Council, the Senior Citizens’ Council, the Culture and Leisure Council, the Rural Districts Council, the Disability Council, and the Youth Council. All six are important cornerstones in our municipal development, and we greatly appreciate the initiatives, guidance, and experience they bring to the table.
Through dialogue between Billund International, the Liberal Party (Venstre), and the Social Democrats (Socialdemokratiet) and with particular initiative from Billund International – we have agreed that it is time for the municipality to continue growing. After the election, we will therefore work to establish an International Council that can contribute with knowledge and advice on the unique advantages, needs, and challenges that come with being a diverse municipality.
We envision a council made up of both international residents, representatives with Danish backgrounds, and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring that the council is broadly rooted across the entire municipality. Together, we can create an even stronger foundation for integration, mutual understanding, and pride in our diverse cultural backgrounds – and thereby even more dynamism in Billund Municipality.
